Ipod bootloader

The Ipod bootloader is the program that tells your player how to load and start the original firmware. It is also responsible for any emergency, recovery, or disk modes on your player. This bootloader is stored in special flash memory in your Ipod and comes factory-installed.

Hey guys.

Is there any way of reflashing the iPod bootloader, or at least copying it from one iPod to another of the same generation?

My bootloader is corrupt, and I was just wondering if this is possible.

No. How do you know the bootloader is corrupt?

I keeps booting into diagnostic mode...
I can force it into disk mode and restore with iTunes, but I end up in the same place again, it boots to diagnostic mode.

This could also be a corrupt firmware partition that has broken sectors so restoring it doesn't work. Though I have no idea how the Ipod behaves if that happens. Maybe trying to swap the hard disk with a known-working one helps tracking this down.

Is there no output in diagnostic mode that is actually indicating the problem?
