has anyone checked out the x4-tech boom star?

^hi there,
I'm new here and first of all I'd like to say that rockbox is really interesting. The features (especially playback of so many audio formats and: that GAPLESS thing!) and being open source - this is a really fine combination. Unfortunately I'm not a coder myself - and the mp3 portable player I have is not on the list! Too bad! But I'd really like to draw your attention to this big fun mini ghetto blaster: X4Tech Boomstar http://www.conrad-international.com/?article=344091
This little cutie has 4gb of internal storage plus an sd-cardslot. build quality is really fine for its price and the sound is surprisingly phat for its size. The Li-Polymer accu seems to work well, too (although I only play around for a day now - but the power bar did not move in this time!)
The only real downer is: the software! So that's when I had to think of rockbox. Bringing this nice soft to this beautiful hardware would just make things perfect...
Even if the software on the boomstar is a real pain in the a.. I'll keep it just because it's fun to use it... so whenever someone with coding skills happens to encounter the boomstar - please let me know. Or is there any other way to do this?
Thanks for your time and interest!
Cheers, S.

You would probably be better off peddling your idea to users of this device since it will probably be easier to get existing owners of the device interested in Rockbox than to get people here to go out and buy a device that they don't own already.
I will refer you to the NewPort page on our wiki as that has relevant information for those wishing to start a new port. Anyone wishing to start a port for this device can gather information in a wiki page and start a topic in the New Ports forum.
