^hi there,
I'm new here and first of all I'd like to say that rockbox is really interesting. The features (especially playback of so many audio formats and: that GAPLESS thing!) and being open source - this is a really fine combination. Unfortunately I'm not a coder myself - and the mp3 portable player I have is not on the list! Too bad! But I'd really like to draw your attention to this big fun mini ghetto blaster: X4Tech Boomstar
http://www.conrad-international.com/?article=344091This little cutie has 4gb of internal storage plus an sd-cardslot. build quality is really fine for its price and the sound is surprisingly phat for its size. The Li-Polymer accu seems to work well, too (although I only play around for a day now - but the power bar did not move in this time!)
The only real downer is: the software! So that's when I had to think of rockbox. Bringing this nice soft to this beautiful hardware would just make things perfect...
Even if the software on the boomstar is a real pain in the a.. I'll keep it just because it's fun to use it... so whenever someone with coding skills happens to encounter the boomstar - please let me know. Or is there any other way to do this?
Thanks for your time and interest!
Cheers, S.
