Sony a72x/a82x port?

I noticed the older Sony a81x series is using a linux based firmware, and since model is similar, but with just a larger screen it should be the same. I know they wanted to rockbox port to the a810x series, maybe we can try to also get it on the newer a72x/a82x? I think this would be a perfect candidate for rockbox as the battery life is like 36h for audio, and 5 for video. good SQ, and easy to use controls. Thank you...

I heard that RBX for Sony would be hard as firmware is not trivial encrypted.

So if we do reverse engineering then there is a better chance of getting a rb port?

The page at www.rockbox.org/wiki/NewPort describes the general approach to get Rockbox to a new target. Do not expect this to be easy, fast or quick.

And expect to do the work yourself or find other owners of this device to help out, as ports are made by owners of devices.
