Ipod - Disconnect
« on: December 12, 2008, 11:00:35 PM »
Hello,
I have a 5th Gen Ipod that I use for listening to music normally, or to plug-into my work laptop so I can run music files directly from the Ipod harddrive. That's my main reason for using RockBox, to make my FLAC files portable. I do this quite a lot, and have noticed when I disconnect my ipod from my laptop, it will put itself back into the default Ipod OS. From there I have to shut the Ipod off, and then reboot it to get back to the RockBox firmware. Essentially, I'm wondering if there is a way, or perhaps a setting, to make my Ipod reboot (after disconnecting from the laptop) to the RockBox firmware automatically.

Thanks!

Unless you are engaging the hold switch while the iPod is plugged into the laptop I am not sure why this is happening.

You were correct :)

It seems my little habits caused the issue. I consistently leave the hold switch (when not in use) on. Tried it without the hold switch and it doesn't stick on the default OS.

Thanks!
