Replaced HD in Gigabeat F10 System Error 00000003
(1/1)

I have looked all over for this on the site, but could not find info. I am sure it is somewhere and hoping someone can help me out.
I recently put in a new 120GB HD from the list provided on the site. Everything installed fine. Only thing I can't find are the "recovery procdures" mentioned at the end of the ZIF to ATA adapter page. I downloaded gigbeat room 3 and tried to run the format utility and it doesn't show the drive is available (Though it shows it in USB as connected.)
Does anyone know/have the "recovery procedures" mentioned? Right now I just have the USB symbol showing on the screen.
If no one knows where the procedures are, can you point me to the directions for manual formatting, etc?
Thanks in Advance,
Eric

I didn't check the ZIF to ATA adapter page you mentioned. But it's probably referring to this: http://www.rockbox.org/twiki/bin/view/Main/GigabeatFXPort#Gigabeat_Recovery_Procedures

To add: The " Gigabeat Recovery Procedures" are correct. But, you don't have to use the Gigabeat Room software - there are alternatives if you just want to add Rockbox. Basically, the drive has to be formatted to FAT32 - so you can use any third-party software to do that.
Suggestions - for Linux, the FAT32 formatting should be built-in. For Windows XP, I would suggest either the Panasonic SDFormatter tool or CompuApps SwissKnife (both free). Once formatted, just add the .rockbox and SYSTEM folders yourself, or run the Rockbox install GUI tool.
Nate!:
My beloved F(100) is working again. I know I've tried many times before formatting the drive as a FAT32 partition but until I used SwissKnife, recently I would still get the error in the subject.
I did notice that I had to take some pressure off and redo how the cabling was squeezed in. Too much pressure gives the same error. I'm just thankful things finally work again! 8)
