Sansa E260 Ver. 01.02.18A

Hello

I have a Sansa E260 version 01.02.18A now as I understand I can't use an 8GB microHC card with this firmware right? But if I do install rockbox I will be able to use the microHC cards?

Finally can someone let me know if they have been sucefully able to use an 8GB microHC with version 01.02.18A that was rockbox installed?

Rockbox does not let you use MicroSDHC with the original firmware. You can use the card IN Rockbox only. It's not a firmware modification, it's an entirely different, separate firmware.

In Rockbox you can use MicroSDHC, yes.

However,
you MUST use a card reader to put files on the 8 gb card, the original firmware on the sansa will NOT support file transfer.

you want to make sure to have your usb mode set to the first option I believe it's the MSC not MTP. I had this issue after going to the .24 firmware. I hope that helps. after doing that, I was able to see both microsd and the player and upload music to them.
