Using Rockbox Simulator
Tapeworm:
Since this forum doesn't allow 'double-posting' even if you are replying to 2 different messages, I'll have to address and thank both Chronon & karashata here.

Choron, thanks again for your help! I know the CustomWPS page is pretty much the 'bible' and I know I'll refer to it often. I've also been looking at the different aspects of the different themes and how they are put together and realize that these are a great learning tool also. Granted not everything is listed in the wiki, but as helpful as the people on this forum are, I'm sure if something comes up that is not already addressed somewhere, I'll be able to find an answer either through searching or asking.

Actually, the up-to-date simulator builds are the ones using the 'simdisk' folder. It was changed after the 3.0 release. As long as it works for what you need it for, though, I suppose that's all good then.
As for creating WPS themes, as Chronon said the CustomWPS wiki page is the best resource so far as what tags are supported, and making the themes may seem a little overwhelming at first but after a few themes you kinda get the hang of it. If you ever need some help I'm sure there are a few people out there willing to point you in the right direction (myself being one.)

Somehow it seems to be backwards. The 1st simulator was the one with the simdisk folder, not the archos and the .rockbox folder was alongside of the simdisk, not within it. That's the one I kept getting the font error with. I got it here from a link on the Custom WPS wiki page:
http://rasher.dk/rockbox/simulator/
Going back yesterday to that same page though, I spotted a link for simulator builds for Rockbox 3.0.1 and followed it here:
http://rasher.dk/rockbox/simulator-release/
I don't know why I didn't notice it before. The simulator .zip file from this page has the archos folder (not simdisk) and the .rockbox folder inside. All set up the way it's supposed to be. I had no problem getting this to work with the same font package as I had tried with the previous one.
I just need the 'boost' rasher provided me in how it works. NOW it's all good! ;D
Thanks to you too, and I may just take you up on your offer. ;)
If any of you ever need any help with Sansa player problems, I go by the same name on the SanDisk community forums here:
http://forums.sandisk.com/sansa/
Feel free to stop by. I'd love to be able to return the favor!
Chronon:
You're very welcome. :)
The simulators that you find at http://rasher.dk/rockbox/simulator/ are actually newer than the ones at http://rasher.dk/rockbox/simulator-release/ and are built on a regular basis from the code in SVN.
Yes. Operating the simulator can be a bit mysterious without the aid of the background player image. I'm glad that's sorted now.

It sounds like the simulators weren't (or aren't) getting zipped up properly then, 'cause the '.rockbox' folder should be inside the 'simdisk' folder. If that's still the case, someone might want to point it out to rasher.
Glad to help where I could though.

I just checked with a random simulator from my site, and this is not the case. I don't really know what else may have gone wrong, but at least things are sorted out now.
