Some Questions: Text editing, renaming, themes...
« on: December 08, 2008, 09:54:07 AM »
Hi!
I have an beautiful Sansa c250 Rockboxed with an SD 4GB on my hands.., i love it. Workin' like silk.. :D

Now, i want to do some things:

- I don't know what button to press for renaming a file or edit a text.., specifically, i've learned experimenting that when i press the Volume buttons some seconds i can Save my edited file (and my config files, etc..)..
Now, i can´t back in what i've write, just add new characters, but no erase previous ones.
What button i should use to do that?

i.e: file: 'Hello.cue'
I want to erase the first letter 'H'.., how i move to this position of the word? what button i press? What button to erase too?

Repeat, i can only add letters now...  :-[
(very noobie i think..)
-------------------------------------------------

- I want to see the elapsed time (hh,mm,ss) and total duration of the tracks.., can i do this with the Rockbox default theme? i can't find the options...
I want to view the elapsed time and track duration of an Cue file.., it's possible?
I want to see the number of the track too...
I should use another theme? What theme? In this case show me the links please.

To the developers: pleaseeee.., add embedded Cuesheet support for WV & Flac files, i have tons of them...

Thanks a lot!. Greetings.

Long life to the open source!!! ;D

See the manual for how to rename and how the virtual keyboard works
See www.rockbox.org/wiki/CustomWPS for details on how to create/edit a WPS to show what you want.  I'm not sure about cuesheets, everything else is possible.

We have a separate manual for each Rockbox platform.  The section of the manual regarding the virtual keyboard in the c200 manual should give you all of the button assignments specific to your player.

Well, BigBambi already linked you to the CustomWPS Wiki page. If that stumps you, then try this more tutorial-type page to learn the basics before making the modifications you want to a more complex WPS.

http://www.rockbox.org/twiki/bin/view/Main/SimpleGuideToWPSMaking

You probably could have found all this info out yourself by searching, as is required by the sign-up agreement, but I know the site has been down recently and I'm feeling generous tonight  ;D

oohh..., thanks.., but, i don't wanna mess with code!  :'(
Nobody have a theme who shows Cue tracks elapsed time and track number?

I think that i don't requesting too much..., just this two things:
A Theme who shows Cue tracks elapsed time and track number. Very Simple.

I've tried a bundle theme called 'Rockboxed', it shows the elapsed time.., but, using Cuesheets it shows the TOTAL elapsed time, don't track by track elapsed time..., and, it don't shows the track number...

Thanks!

p.s: i really love this.., but i don't know too much about code stuff..., please help me. :)

I'm afraid you're going to have to learn if you really want it to do something it doesn't already.

If it is so simple (which it really is), then you should have no trouble doing it yourself.

This isn't code - just look at the page I linked you to and change the tags as you wish.

You could also try out other themes which may contain more info. The other two shipped ones, iCatcher and Rockboxed, both show elapsed time and there are a few additional ones on the c200 specific WpsGallery page in the Rockbox wiki. Perhaps you find something you like there.

P.S.: Reminds me that I wanted to suggest switching to a 10 pixel tall font for the c200 default theme, giving one more line in the WPS, so it can fit the time status line there is on other cabbiev2 versions...

I think the OP wants to display information calculated from the info inside of a cue sheet.  I don't think this is possible currently.  If you load a file with an associated .cue file it will show track breaks on the progress bar and you can skip from track to track, but as far as I am aware there's not an existing way to display the time elapsed in the current track (rather than time elapsed in the current file).
