Dear Forum Members,
I posted poorly recently, sorry.   :(  Please let me try again:  Am I correct to understand that Rockbox will not work with any Sandisk firmware version above version 1?  Thank you.

Yep, that's right.  The hardware in the v2 is different than the v1 and I believe there are currently no stable builds for the v2 (or even any builds at all?).

So no Rockbox for you or for me, for that matter.
