When E260 is plugged into USB to charge, music folder becomes hidden

Every time I plug in the USB connector to charge up the unit, the "hidden" attribute turns on for the Music folder.
I can change it back but it is an aggravation.
Any help on this one?

This question wasn't in any way about installing Rockbox. Please read the POSTING IN THIS FORUM posts before posting anywhere. I've moved it to the proper section.

The original firmware is what re-hides your music folder. We don't write it, so we can't control what it does. When Rockbox's USB mode is finally usable, this will no longer be a problem unless you choose to boot the original firmware.

Besides, when you're using Rockbox there's nothing that forces you to use the music folder so by calling it "musixx" instead you'll easily avoid this annoyance.

wait for the fully usable rockbox USB stack I guess. If you're using Windows, you can rename directories and check "Show hidden Files and Folders" in 'Tools' - 'Folder Options'

I renamed my "MUSIC" folder to ".MUSIC" to (1) get away from the effects of OF, and (2) to bring it to the top of the list (".MUSIC" comes before ".rockbox"). Even then I keep 99% of my music on microSD (Sansa e200s) so the OF doesn't muck with it anyway.

If you have renamed it anyway, then don't put the full stop in front and set Rockbox to show supported files.  Directories with a . in front are treated as hidden, and therefore the .rockbox folder won't be shown, but your renamed one will be.

But then he'd have to call it something other than "MUSIC".  I call mine "AUDIO", which achieves the same end of appearing at the top (when .rockbox is hidden) as well as not getting hidden by the OF.

Yes, which is why I said

If you have renamed it anyway

meaning if you don't mind renaming it.  Obviously renaming it back to music wouldn't work...
