Loaded on c250 but music is gone and media player & PC do not see player

First, I just found this program. Thank you for developing it.  The Sansa software is very limited.  Now if I(we) can get it running. 

Rock box loaded, but when I plug in the player (to the PC) I cannot find the drive in explore.  Media player does not see the player either. 
Lastly, the songs that were on my player are gone or (or Rockbox cannot see them). 

Any help appreciated.

Specifically, Does USB work? and Where are my music files and the "MUSIC" folder?

Thanks for the wiki link.  Useful info, but not my exact install problem.  My c250 turns on and loads the Sansa software when I plug in the USB, but from there I cannot see the drive on my PC to add, delete, etc.  Windows Media Player could not find it either.  Any suggestions?  Should I re-install or ?

Have you tried a different USB port? A different cable? Are you plugging into a hub?

Try different ports, and see if maybe your cable may be going bad.

First unplug the USB cord from the sansa

1. Power off your sansa
2. power on then press and hold <<  button on sansa
3. under sansa software choose settings
4. choose USB mode
5. choose MSC
6. press power (power off)
7. attach the usb cord back to the sansa
8. press power

From here you should be able to access the sansa drive.
microSD you'll need a SD or microSD adapter with USB

Thanks for the help so far.  I have tried everything listed many times to make sure I did it correct.  I still cannot view the Sansa player on my PC.  I did find about 30 songs ( I had many  on the player and a 2 GB micro card) in the Root directory under files.  They play fine. 

I guess I should unitstall Rock Box, but not sure how I can if the PC will not see it.  Any ideas?

Do you have the microSD card inserted when connecting? Did you try what happens when you plug in USB while the original firmware is already running (either started manually as 1. and 2. of tipstir's post describe, or just reconnect once after the automatic boot into the OF)?

Pixelma, Thanks!  Removing the SD card was the ticket for getting through to the PC.  Things are working, but my SD card and the c250 internal memory are full.  The system folders contain MTPCONTENT folders that are filling the memory.   They contain .dat files.  1.59GB and 1.64GB worth.  Did Rockbox install these.  Is it safe to remove them?

No, that is nothing to do with Rockbox.  I am guessing it is music you have copied over in MTP mode.  As far as Rockbox is concerned you can delete them.
