Brand new out of box Sansa e280

Okay, not going to let the possible troubles intimidate me. When I open the box, I want to turn it on and immediately ! install Rockbox.  I am going to:

1. download proper version of RB off the website into my windows?
2. let the player find the software on my computer?

I know, elementary school stuff, but I'd like to not fudge it up right from the start.

Too late, there are possible troubles. A "brand new out of box Sansa e280" is almost certainly going to be a v2 model, which means that you can not run Rockbox.

If your firmware version is 03.XX.XX, it's a v2.
