sometimes removed tracks still appear - C250
« on: November 20, 2008, 10:18:23 AM »
Hi.  I have a Sansa C250, and there is one CD that I removed (removed folder).  I selected Update Database and restarted a number of times, but it continues to find the CD and its tracks, although they are not playable.

Any suggestions??

Thanks

You need to initialise, rather than update in order to fix that (export database contents first!)

Alternatively, turn on directory cache (which has the added benefit of generally faster folder browsing)

Thanks...when does one Initialize vs. Update?

You should Initialize when you first build the database (of course), and also if and when you make any significant changes to your music, such as rearranging folders or removing files.

You should Update when you do something like add a new folder of music to your collection, so it will appear in the Database.
