e200 and database updates

I have an e280 with an 8G microSD card.  Sometimes it takes quite a few tries to get the database to update after new CDs are added (and they are tagged).  Sometimes newly added CDs get recognized after they are added and the db updated, and sometimes they don't.  If I add a group, sometimes only some of them get found...and then more do after a few or many more tries.  It seems to be a CD by CD issue. In some cases it seemed like it might not fully update...but after enough restarts and attempts to update, it did.

Does anyone know what might be happening here?

Can you post your database related settings?  Did this start happening recently? 

I'll transfer a bunch of new music to my Sansa tonight and get back to you if I run into any similar issues.

The database can take a while to update and it does not provide any feedback when it's finished.  If you turn the statusbar on you can use the flash-access-icon as a progress bar.  If it's visible, the database is still working.
