best and biggest players
« on: November 17, 2008, 06:12:03 AM »
whats the biggest capacity and best rockboxable player out there-  on peoples opinions!?

i currently use a iriver h140-  which i have had for like 5 years now!!-  sadly i know it will die at some point  and its only 40gb's  -- and was just wondering what a suitable big capacity replacement would be!?

i like the new archos 5 series, and the 'idea' behind the zune-- but in the back of my mind i was hoping iriver would come out with a new big capacity player!!

anyone got any suggestions on current players or players in the pipeline-  sorry if this is a much covered topic!!

p.s and a big thanks to Llorean and JD Gordon for their prompt responses earlier!!!

Lots of people have modified their players by replacing the disk with a larger capacity one. Try doing a forum search or start here:

We've got that covered, too. Check out this page:

Well, the subsequent section (http://www.rockbox.org/twiki/bin/view/Main/HardDriveReplacement#1_8_Drive_Comparison) details all the drives with certain physical characteristics. You need to match the connector type and thickness with your existing drive and that will tell you the suitable models and therefore the drive capacities available for your player.

Also, a simple forum search for 'iriver hard drive replacement' turns up lots of suitable-looking topics.
