stand-alone apps?

are there any stand-alone apps that one would ROLO from the file browser on a SD S e200R. ???

No, and that wouldn't make sense -- that "app" would need to be a firmware of its own, including all low-level drivers.

yup... that's what i was talking about.
the reason i wonder is because... well, wouldn't such a "stand-alone app" run faster than an a plugin in RB?

I can't see any reason why it would, unless it somehow had better drivers then rockbox.  And if it did, we'd probably just copy whatever it did better into Rockbox.  More likely it'd just be a copy of rockbox's drivers, except with more bugs and less updates.
