Custom File Colors
« on: November 15, 2008, 10:25:47 PM »
I'm having trouble getting rockbox to use filetype colours as desribed at
http://www.rockbox.org/twiki/bin/view/Main/CustomFiletypeColours

I've tried making the .colour file the same as my theme, placing it in the .rockbox directory instead of the themes directory, clearing my colors, nothing.

Anyone know what I'm doing wrong? Does this feature even work?

Just creating the colour file doesn't immediately put it in use. Have you tried using a config file to load the colours file?

Yes, it needs to be activated using a config file entry.

I've now updated the Wiki page to describe how to activate the option. Sorry, It was my omission when I wrote that page originally  :-[

Thanks,
I didn't think I needed anything in the .cfg file because I searched that section of the manual for "color" and only found the foreground/background color settings.   When I went back and searched for "colour" I found it.  Maybe it would be easier if there was just one spelling of the word used?

The background and foreground colour settings are also spelled "colour" everywhere except the manual appendix (which needs updating, it seems).

Even if they weren't, I'd think the rampant use of the term "colour" both in the filename itself and the wiki page might've been a clue what to search for. ;)

As a note, Rockbox uses British English (apart from the odd error like you found) so keep that in mind for your future searching needs :).

It's now updated.
