cant find ipod error

<< < (5/6) > >>

linuxstb:
You shouldn't need root/Administrator privileges on OS X - if rbutil/ipodpatcher doesn't detect the ipod, then something else is wrong.

Firstly, can you confirm you have the older "3rd generation" ipod, and not the more recent "3rd Generation Nano" ?

I considered flaky USB connection as a possibility but never considered that it might not be a 3rd generation iPod.  They have quite a distinctive look.

Sorry I don't know how to post the image but yes I'm sure it 3rd generation ipod nano. Go to link that's exactly what it is (size and colour).
Flaky usb connection ? Is there a way to find out if it's flaky or not? By the way I've tried each of my usb ports or whatever you call them and they each were the same. Would it maby help if I used my mom's connector cord (she has same type of ipod)?

Rockbox does not run on the 3rd gen Ipod Nano. The front page tells this, and if you use the autodetection functionality of Rockbox Utility it will tell you too.
