danoid:
I'm trying to get a Sansa E280 up and running and have the following setup

E280 V1
rockbox version r19091-081111

With the following issues
I keep getting a loud high pitched tone when ending music playback.  It wont go away until I start another song.

Random folder advance doesn't work (repeat is off) (all I want is 'Album Shuffle like my old Ipod)

Occasional 'data abort' screen of death.

Any help is appreciated.

saratoga:
I'd guess your player is broken if its randomly crashing and making funny sounds, but checking the disk for errors couldn't hurt just to be sure its not a file system issue.

dreamlayers:
Random folder advance requires a list of folders which is created by Plugins -> Applications -> random_folder_advance_config.

After checking the disk, if you still have the other problems, try Rockbox 3.0 and the original firmware.

I did the folder list, and removed the artist folders, leaving just the album (sub to the artist) folders.  I've looked at the txt file in Word and it looked fine (no I didn't save it as a Word doc either - text - UTF8 or something like that).

I thought I did install Rockbox 3.0.  I pulled it from the releases download.

I'll try a file check when I get home, but the comment that 'I guess the player is broke' is pretty scary.

Thanks.

You didn't. You pulled it from "current build" page.
