Change settings via computer? (iRiver H120)

(1/1)

Hi,

I've got an iRiver H120 with Rockbox. Recently, I got a pair of Shure SE210 as replacements for my broken E2C's. Big mistake though it was (they sound half as good for double the money), I at least want to change the sound settings to accomodate the weird frequency response. However, the display on my H120 is cracked, so there's no way to know what I'm actually doing. Since the player sounds awesome I have put up with the whole cracked display thing for some time now, but clearly - SOMETHING needs to be done at this point. :P I tried to navigate "in the dark" using the manual as reference point, but all I managed to do was to toggle the "repeat the same song over and over again" thingy...

Now, inside the .rockbox-folder (browsing the player with win XP) there is a config01.cfg. I tried changing some stuff around in it, but nothing took. What do do, guys? (Apart from buying new stuff!)

Try the voice interface out. You can have each menu item be spoken aloud for you to navigate through it.

Oh, I had no idea. How do I enable this function with the iRiver H120? I had no luck with the forum search/google.

EDIT: Nevermind, I figured it out. Thanks! :D

EDIT2: Either the navigation isn't consistent with the manual or I'm doing something wrong; it should look (or rather sound) like this:

Settings: Sound settings
               General settings
               Manage settings
               etc.

But instead i get:

Settings: Sound settings
               "Dithering"
               "Central european"
                etc.

 ???

sounds like you have an ld voice file... you need to build a new one..

also, config01.cfg is a saved config.... you want to eit stuff in config.cfg its this one which is loaded/saved to automaticlally
