Gigabeat became Read-Only
« on: November 07, 2008, 11:28:18 PM »
Today I put RockBox on my Gigabeat F10.  I was transferring files to it and in he middle of a transfer, the HD beacme read-only.  Nothing was changed and everything was working fine.  It didn't unmount of become unplugged.

Does any have any advice on what I should do?

Thanks,
Eric

Maybe your disk has some file system damage.  Run a utility to check for and repair any problems.

You nailed it!  Last night I started up my Vista virtual machine and did a file check on the device.  2 of the MP3 files were corrupted.  Had it fix those and everything was fixed.

Damn that NOFX, always stir up trouble...I didn't like Liberal Animation anyway...

Thanks again!

You're welcome.  Sometimes this happens if people don't safely remove their player following a USB connection.
