Funkiness after Rockbox install - c250 - SOLVED

I have installed Rockbox on my c250 (hadn't done that before, just on my ipod 4th gen grayscale) but now after doing so I cannot get the Sansa to connect in MSC mode to the computer.  I installed through the gui (slick, all my other installs on the ipod were through manual). It also does not see the rockbox and packages installed.  I do have some other funkiness (not seeing all the files that are seen by the Sansa in original firmware, but that can wait.  I want to drag and drop my music again.

Rockbox doesn't have a complete USB stack yet on PortalPlayer targets. Turn your Sansa off, and boot it to the OF (hold |<< as you turn it on) to transfer files to it.

I tried to boot it in the old firmware....it shows the rockbox loader then old update database animation (Sansa) and comes up in the OF but is not seen by the computer.  It does not even show the Connected animation.  It does show it charging, however.

Sounds like a problem with your PC.

After messing with it for about another hour, it actually started charging and now does the drag-n-drop again.  Rock on!!!

might be a problem with the cable...
same thing happened to me before my cable stopped working all together.(it would work on and off...  sometimes working other times not.)
then it got stolen.( ...  stupid people... stealing a broken cable! )
funny stuff.
so then i got a new cable from my friend who had had his player stolen.(and therefore he didn't need the cable any longer.)

my suggestion...
buy an new cable...
or...
find a friend of yours that has a sansa and borrow their cable.

and...
if the new cable doesnt work any better than your current one then just return it.
