New option for "First Keypress Enables Backlight Only"

On a Sansa e200 (not sure about others, sorry), this option exists under General Settings -> Display.

Atm, there is only the option to enable or disable, I would very much like a 3rd option, very close to disable, such that all button presses other than Select would take effect right away, but Select would only light the backlight on the first press.

(Unless there's another way to see easily enable the backlight to see what's playing now.  I currently can hold the play/pause button to turn the backlight on, but that's neither easy nor intuitive.)

iirc the rec button isnt used in the WPS so you could use that.

I think having the third option would just confuse people, not to mention making it work consistantly across all 28 targets would be fun...

I found this setup useful:

- set display time to short 3-5 sec (enough time to operate menus etc)
- to extend display time to read screen press and keep presseded SELECT button (center one on Sansa).

This way I extend battery live yet can read WPS screen for as long as I want.

i just slightly hit the volume....   

Personally, I do not want the back light to come on when I change the volume. I find myself nudging the volume quite often.

This brings another idea. How about being able to define what functions turn on the back light? Perhaps each button can have independent OFF, ON, 1 thru 120 secs settings.
