Video doesnt work with rockbox
(1/1)
Jekt:
well im pretty new to this just got a sansa e200 and did the auto install of rockbox. not sure if i liek it i like the extra features but not the music formats so much.
however the videos i had on the sansa befor dont show video in rockbox, have no idea why they would work befor rockbox but not after. also if anyone would wanna be really helpful we could chat so i could have help gettin everythign set up that way i would like it. any help appreciated.
Chronon:
Rockbox plays MPEG-1 or MPEG-2 -- the SanDisk firmware plays MJPEG (in a MOV container). See the PluginMpegplayer page in the wiki for more details and instructions about how to convert videos into the proper format for Rockbox.
I don't know why support for more audio codecs should trouble you. If you don't want to encode your music to any of these then don't.
Jekt:
well with this i ordered 4 gig mini disk for it and i read that without rockbox the player wont recognize it. basically only reason i have it installed lol.
BTW i figuired out and changed the viewer for the music so it is much more visually pleasing :)

I hope you mean MicroSD card, not MiniDisc.
If it's 4 GB there's a small possibility it's SD, not SDHC, so the OF might be able to use it.
Since you didn't mention it, I assume you've figured out how to transcode and play videos with Rockbox?
AutobahnSHO:
W/ Rockbox you can copy the videos to the microSD cards too- and actually play them.
I keep ONLY video on a few cards, and so even if I use the Original Firmware the database refresh takes only a second (or two) upon startup..
