Error message 'Load main image failed' upon startup, need help
(1/1)

I have a Sansa E250R. Just installed rockbox using methods for sansa and rhapsody.
All went fine until the initial boot and then my sansa gave a message on the screen saying: "Load main image failed/switch to Recovery mode"
I cannot get to Recovery mode using the instructions on the site. My computer now will not recognize the sansa, regardless of how I plug it in (manufacture mode/striaght USB plug in, etc.).
Anybody got any ideas? How do I unbrick it or format or whatever to make it operable again?
thanks.

If you ended up here, you did more then just install rockbox. Probably best to give a detailed instruction of how you got here.

To mount the sansa you have to be in either the OF, rockbox USB mode, or recovery mode. Now I'm not sure what else you might have done to your sansa, but if you just followed the install instructions recovery mode should still work. I'd double check that you're doing it right.

Thanks for your response. I got it figured out by poking around google. Not getting it into Recovery Mode was all my fault...always helps to do things correctly.
Apparently installing the sansa bootloader patch did not take, I am sure because of me. So, I did it again and it looks like it works.
thanks tho.
