Set sleep timer on as default

<< < (2/4) > >>

Chronon:
Ah... my mistake.

Riffer:
As my girlfriend wants to have this option too, I would like to have at least the way that is shown here.

So please put the sleep timer option into the .cfg!

I've added a patch to provide these options;

I have a more usefull (for me) behavior request that might offer similar functionality.   I can't believe there isn't an option for this already.  My goal is to have the device power off after x minutes if no buttons are pressed, regardless of playback status.

That way I can save my battery even if i forget to turn off the device when playing music. (for example in the car on battery power)

Just add another optoin to the menu right under  'idle power off', call it  'idle power off while playing' where you can specify a separate time value.

If i had this option, I could set this value to a high number, for me one hour would work fine, and not have to find my rockbox mysteriously dead from time to time when i forget to turn it off.   It wouldn't even affect my normal operation, really, how often do you listen for over an hour without pressing a button to skip, change vol, etc.    Like a battery safety net.

I would have this setting with options similar to the existing idle poweroff,  but I would go from OFF all the way up to 2 hours vs. max of 60 minutes.  I would have it actually pause playback then have the regular idle timer kick in to power off.  This would give users time to resume if they are actually still listening.  thus it would require the regular idle poweroff to be set.

please somebody implement this!!   it could be set to disabled by default so as not to affect those who like to listen for hours without touching their device.

This could even would work for the original poster without using a sleep timer at all,  he could set this timer to say 30 min and then when he falls asleep it turns off,  then if he wakes up and powers on, he resumes playback and gets his 30 minute timer automatically started counting.

fyi my device does not have the headphone detection ability, which would help at least some of the time if the device was unplugged from the headphones.

Thanks
