Help on updating an old WPS theme

(1/2) > >>

stack:
A long time ago there was a Super Mario Brothers theme for the iPod video by Dan Manners. I began customizing it to fit my wants/desires/needs/ect and I eventually got it where I really liked it.

I have not done in update in almost a year but I had heard how nice the new version of Rockbox was and I wanted to try it. The new version broke my theme :'(

Thankfully when I did the update, I copied .rockbox to .rockbox-old first before I did any modification. The old version was r16544-080307. The new version is r18607-3.0-080923. When I go back to the old version it works perfectly.

Thanks to the help on the forums I found out that things have been updated and old themes will probably break. So for the last hour I have been reading the guides and trying to find out where my theme is breaking. As far as I can tell, all of the bits and pieces should work.

I am confused. Can someone who knows a bit more then I please take a look and see if you can spot what I have done wrong?

Thanks!
I appreciate it!

*Note: I can't upload .zip files so I attached a .bin to the end. You will need to remove this to extract.

[EDIT]: Clarification that Dan Manners created the original version.

Llorean:
If you can't attach a certain type of file, please ask first instead of just deciding you're allowed to, and sneaking it in with a different name.

You could just pastebin the contents of the .wps and link to the pastebin link so that people can view it, as the .wps is where the error would be.

OK. Thanks for the tip. I will do that then.

--- Code: ---#Original Theme Made By Dan Manners.
. . .

--- End code ---
[EDIT] hit the wrong button the first time... :-[

Chronon:
Pastebin is a site that allows you to post text for collaborative viewing and editing.  I am not really sure of the license on that theme, so I don't think that code should be posted here.  However, I will point out that you need to fix the %pb tag's syntax and remove the %P tag.  Here's a summary of what changed: http://forums.rockbox.org/index.php?topic=17507.msg130643#msg130643

I did not know of pastebin before. Thanks for pointing that out to me.

Thanks for the %pb pointer. While the outline is still screwed up, I was at least able to get it to display.

One odd thing is that it seems to crash the ipod-video-sim-w32 application but it seems to be OK when I boot up Rockbox on my iPod. ???

At least now that I have a screen to work with, I can edit the positioning back to where it should be.

Thanks!
