Rockpaint mystery tool
(1/1)
dirtdawg:
For all it's akwardness, I love Rockpaint. But I use an iPod Nano so the screen is very small. There is a tool in the lower row of the toolbox, next to the eyedropper, that is white and no matter how I strain my eyes, I cannot make out what this tool is. I have tried using it, of course, but that doesn't seem to help either.
There is also not one mention of this app in the manual and I couldn't even find the author's name of this underappreciated gem on the Web, so no help there.
Could someone please clue me in on this mystery tool?
Also, I know Rockpaint has not changed much in the past couple years. Anyone know if there are plans to expand or enhance this app in the near future?
Thank you.
EDIT: I found the Rockpaint entry on the Rockbox wiki (http://www.rockbox.org/twiki/bin/view/Main/PluginRockpaint), but again there is no mention of this tool (although you can see it in the screenshots)??? Is it just a decorative use space? Mysterious...

i dont know for sure but i think that is the "no tool" tool. maybe its supposed to be an eraser? but it dosent work.
maybe it is just a decorative use space.
???

I'm with you. Since nobody seems to know what it's for, I'm guessing it's either a tool that just doesn't work or a space holder for a tool that was never implemented.
I did find the author's screen name, eli_sherer, here: http://plugbox.rockbox-lounge.com/rockpaint.htm BIg "thank you" to them for the great app.

Hi,
i just checked the source code of rockpaint, and it seems this "tool" is just unused.
So its like a placeholder for future extensions..
