Gigabeat playlists
« on: October 26, 2008, 01:06:18 PM »
I have the current version of RB on my F-40.  According to the manual, pressing the "A" key should save a dynamic playist from the virtual kepad.  When I press the key, nothing happens--I simply remain at the keypad.  Any advice would be appreciated.

It works properly for me.  The "A" button accepts whatever has been entered in the virtual keyboard as the filename (and path).

Does it acknowledge the save?  When I press A, I receive no verification, and the virtual keyboard remains ascive on the screen.

On my player, the virtual keyboard goes away and returns me to the previous screen.  I can verify that files are saved to the right place. Does the A button work for its other functions (e.g. return to WPS screen if away, or play/pause if on WPS)?

Yes--It does perform the other functions that it is supposed to.

I have just verified that it works as usual for me with r18891.  If our build and hardware are the same (you didn't mention which revision) then we should find some other factor that's unique to your situation.  First, try clearing your settings and see if your situation changes.

I'm using r18607.  I cleared my settings, and the A button still does not save the playlist.

Can you try this with the release version as well as a current version?

I tried the current version, and have the same problem.  I get stuck on the virtual keyboard with no exit option.

The power button should exit without saving changes.

It doesn't.  A short press does nothing, and a long press shuts down.

What version number does yours report now? And does the power button work normally in other screens?

I'm on r18607, and yes, it works on other screens.
An update:  I can now move away from the keyboard, but instead of saving the playlist, I get an "Error accessing playlist file" error.
