rockboxdev.sh on a mac
« on: October 25, 2008, 09:52:39 PM »
I tried to install a cross compiler (two actually, m68k and arm) using the rockboxdev.sh script on a mac today. I've done this before... Anyway, the process finished but when I went to compile some builds, I found that I didn't have an "m68k-elf-gcc" or an "arm-elf-gcc" in the destination directories, just some associated files.

So funny thing... I had almost the exact same problem two years ago (m68k only):

However I think the patch that was the result of that problem made it's way into cvs/svn.

Here's a log file from rockbox.dev:

Thanks!

So there's been a few updates to rockboxdev.sh lately. Now it quits on this error:
Code: [Select]
checking for gcc... (cached) gcc
checking whether the C compiler (gcc -g -O2  ) works... no
configure: error: installation or configuration problem: C compiler cannot create executables.
make: *** [configure-binutils] Error 1
Is it odd that this gcc command doesn't work (on mac leopard)?

I gave it another go and it seems to work now. It looks like there's been one change to rockboxdev.sh in SVN since I last tried it so that must have been it!
