iPod Crashes :(

I have an iPod Video 80gb, and I just installed Rockbox. Everything seems to work fine, until I begin to play a song. It plays for about 3 seconds and then a static noise plays for like 1/2 a second and my iPods screen turns black.

For me to turn the iPod back on, I have to reset the iPod.

Any ideas? I was really looking forward to playing .flac files.

Try reinstalling.  It sounds like you got a bad download.  What version/revision are you using?

I just went to the download page and picked the one for iPod Video.
Should I reinstall that same version or try something else?

Although the page you download from never really changes - the file it points to changes sometimes on an hourly basis - so yes, download it again, and try with that.

I used the RockBox Utility to uninstall all of the RockBox files I had on my iPod, and then reinstalled just the bootloader and RockBox itself (excluding all the extras) onto the iPod. I still have the same problem of a song playing for a couple seconds and then I hear static and the ipod turns off.
