Well, I tried posting it in the tracker, but got it deleted :-P

If you read the POSTING IN THIS FORUM, you'll see you're not supposed to post to the tracker until AFTER you start working on it. There is no category for feature requests, only "Bugs" which this is not, and "Patches" which require some work to be done.

What, *exactly* are you looking for a "right" way to do? You've already said "I think this would be cool to have".
