Help with Rockboy
« on: October 23, 2008, 11:39:23 AM »
When I a Mario deluxe, It plays pretty slow. But when I watch youtube  videos, there ipod is playing them pretty fast. Practically perfect. I have a ipod 5.5g. Is there a plugin I'm missing or something.

I moved your post, as it's a plugin question.

No plugins are missing. Rockboy runs slowly on PortalPlayer targets (iPod, H10, Sansa), and even more so with Game Boy Color games. You can try increasing the frame skipping and disabling sound to get some speed, but it won't be very much at all.

Were they running ipod linux?  If I remember correctly (and I could be exactly wrong), ipod linux has a better gameboy player than rockbox.

A frameskip of 2 or 3 with the sound turned off is usually fine for me on my c250 (a PortalPlayer target). Even Super Mario Brothers Deluxe runs at a decent ~35 FPS. (And in puzzle games like Ballistic or Tetris, I use the slowness as an aid. ;) )

It depends on which player, and the manual should have the keys.
