I haven't tested the MR500 target, but the Cowon D2 target works with the mouse (you just need to press F4 to go the TOUCHSCREEN_POINT mode).

But still, not all screens in Rockbox are adapted to work with a touchscreen; I've covered the most important ones (and some games) but there's still a lot of work to do..

Thanks! I'll try both of these this evening.

EDIT: I've tried the Cowon D2 target, and everything seems to work well, except for the same crackling audio I experienced with the IPOD video target. I'm guessing it is something to do with the sampling rate conversion. I'm fixed to 48khz on my sound card, and cannot change it (M-Audio Delta 1010LT).

I assume the Rockbox is based more on 44.1k, as that is what most mp3s, flacs, oggs, etc are encoded at. Should I change this in the source code so that my compilation of Rockbox works at 48k? Could it be this simple? If so, where do I make this change?

Is there a step-by-step guide to custom-compiling Rockbox? Specifically, I would like to make the resolution 1024x600, for my EeePC.

on the wiki there is.. but changing the res is not a simple 1 line change... all graphics need to be redone to fit the screen (or it will look bad)

Thanks, but I've decided to use XBMC now. I don't really have the patience (or skills) to make my own build from source...

Where can I find a description of how to use a touchscreen with rockbox?

What exactly are you asking here?

How to use Rockbox with a touchscreen that is already being developed for, or how to integrate a new touchscreen device with the existing Rockbox code base?

if the touchscreen acts like a mouse then you shouldnt need to fix anything... but because there are no real touchscreen targets working yet its likely things wont work correctly
