I can't sync my 3rd Gen ipod with my com

(1/1)

ellagar:
I use 3rd gen ipod and sync by USB  on Window

..I installed rockbox . I can't sync with my com by usb cable....It show " USB device NOT Recognize"

My com caN'T SEE IT.

How fix it?

AlexP:
When you insert USB, Rockbox should boot to the Apple emergency disk mode, and then you can copy music however you normally do.  If this isn't working, then use the dual boot functionality to start the Apple firmware, copy music, then reset it to get back to Rockbox.  The manual tells you how to dual boot.

bluebrother:
Well, the IpodFAQ covers how to manually set the Ipod into disc mode, though I doubt this is the issue here -- if the computer tells something about device not recognized it's an issue with the computer, its OS or some software running on it.

AlexP:
Doesn't it come up with Rockbox Jukebox device or something if you elect to charge by USB?  I was thinking that seeing as the auto reboot is intermittently dodgy, that it might have something to do with this - the original post was far from clear.  However, if it is doing it also from Apple's disk modes, then yes, it is something else.

Hmm, true. Forgot about this issue (well, I don't have any but I'm also using the experimental usb stack ... ;) ). So the poster needs to clarify this first ...
