while recording, how do I get the real time counter to show?

I've got a H320 (with CF card mod) and would like to know how to get the "Time:" (elapsed) to show when using this to record with. The real time counter that is.
See the pic on this link, it's the first item showing under the battery icon
http://download.rockbox.org/manual/rockbox-h300/main_menu/images/ss-while-recording-screen-220x176x16.png
When I record with my H320, the only item on the display that lets you know it's actually recording is the "Size:" counter, which shows the recorded file increasing in size. I'd also like to see a real time counter if it's available.
I've searched here and over at misticriver and have yet to find anything that shows one how to accomplish this.

What revision/version of Rockbox are you using?

Sorry,
I'm running Release 3 (from Sept 23rd 2008).
I've only had this unit about 4 months now and the build on it when I bought it was well over a year old. So this feature wasn't there then, or now. Then I recently saw a link to the H3xx manual which makes one believe this feature is available. If it is great I'd love to have it, if it isn't, it isn't.
Oh, don't code either.....

I don't see any settings to enable it, and the discussion in the v3.0 manual indicates that it should be displayed automatically. Someone with more expertise with this target and with the recording code should be along to help you.

top line = status bar
line 1 = time
line 2 = size
...
That´s what my h300 shows (also CF modded btw)

ok, mine isn't showing line 1 then.
Could it be a corrupted (cfg) file or something? Should I delete all the files currently on there and reload the v3 again? I've never actually deleted anything other than my music files, but any update I've done to the rockbox software I copied over the existing files.

having problems getting an attachement small enough to post here, so here's a link for a screenshot

There sure seems to be a lot of extra stuff on my recording screen from others that I have seen. Is that normal?

For future reference, you can get Rockbox to give you a screen dump by following these instructions:

ah, you have automatic file splitting enabled based on filesize... that uses the line where the time is.
If you do not need filesplitting, just disable it in the recording settings

ah hah, that was it!
Odd thing though that the recording time feature has never showed, even when I had just bought this and used it the first time (where at some point later on I set the size limit feature)....
Anyway, by turning that file split size option off, it will still stop at the 2gig mark when recording, correct? Then resume recording (like I have it specified to do)?
Thanks a ton !!
