Volume when attached to car

(1/3) > >>

HorchataKing:
I have the 30GB iPod Video with the latest build on it.  The problem I have is that when I connect the player to my cars ipod adapter the volume on the ipod is so low i can not hear it without turning the radio all the way up.  The volume on the ipod is turned all the way up and every setting I have found hasnt helped. Does anyone have an insight or advice on how to solve this.

saratoga:
The connector on your car is probably a line in jack.  If you use a headphone out jack, the volume may or may not match.  The best thing to do would be to get a line out adapter for your ipod.

soap:
Assuming no DSP, set your iPod's volume to "0".

dreamlayers:
The Video iPod is capable of outputting a reasonable level to line in.  If you're having some problem, maybe it's due to your iPod adapter.

A few things you could try:  connecting another source (if possible), connecting the iPod to another line in (eg. your computer) and using the same iPod with the Apple firmware.

HorchataKing:
Apple firmware produces normal volume levels, other ipods have no problems (given they are all apple firmware), the ipod adapter in my truck attaches to the ipod dock connector.
