Chronon:
It looks like toffe helped someone out with the same problem a while back.
http://forums.rockbox.org/index.php?topic=9509.15

Though, it's not clear from that topic exactly what was needed in addition to the GBSYSTEM/FWIMG/fwimg0*.dat files.

LambdaCalculus:
There's a set of dummy Gigabeat firmware files here. Unzip these to the root of your Gigabeat; they should extract and create the GBSYSTEM/FWIMG folder needed.

Afterwards, reinstall Rockbox and the bootloader; power cycle (click the battery off and on), and all should be right.

Chronon:
Hopefully. . . though, the user in the topic I linked had these files in the right place and was still experiencing this error.

Here's what toffe said:

--- Quote ---If you format with windows, there is something missing on the hard drive so it can boot

I had this problem before and the only way was to reload an image from a working gigabeat.

You can try to reformat with the gigabeat format utility or perhaps make an update but I think it will still don't work

I can send you an image of a working gigabeat that you can load on it if you want

--- End quote ---

It didn't work, I sent toffe a PM though, hopefully I'll be able to figure out how to fic this.

Thanks guys

LambdaCalculus:
No problem. If there's one man who knows Gigabeats, it's toffe. He'll have you back up and running. :)
