Bricked it semi fixed it, Plz plz help me

OK so I installed rockbox and it worked great but when winamp asked me if it wanted me to let it manage it I said no by accident. I couldn't find another way to enable the gigabeat in winamp so I figured I'd format it and do it over. Well half way through my brother unplugged it! Well it wouldn't format after that so I power cycled it and I was able to reformat it. Well i installed rock box back on it and restarted it and I got an error message so I figured i just had to reinstall the boot loader. I went to the directory but it wasn't even there. I have an update CD so I tired that but no go, I'm thinking if I have the original firmware setup i can redo everyuthing but I may be wrong. Any way Plz help me everyone.

Sorry I didnt think it would be relevant since it was an error message from the original firmware (or whats left of it lol) not rockbox but the error message is "00000020 System Error"

I replacing the directory but I got the same error. Are their any other files that come with the Gigabeat originally that may be missing?

Though, it's not clear from that topic exactly what was needed in addition to the GBSYSTEM/FWIMG/fwimg0*.dat files.

There's a set of dummy Gigabeat firmware files here. Unzip these to the root of your Gigabeat; they should extract and create the GBSYSTEM/FWIMG folder needed.

Afterwards, reinstall Rockbox and the bootloader; power cycle (click the battery off and on), and all should be right.

Hopefully. . . though, the user in the topic I linked had these files in the right place and was still experiencing this error.

I had this problem before and the only way was to reload an image from a working gigabeat.

You can try to reformat with the gigabeat format utility or perhaps make an update but I think it will still don't work

I can send you an image of a working gigabeat that you can load on it if you want

I'm not sure if this was fixed yet, but I would also try the following:

1- Make sure the drive is formatted to FAT32, not NTFS (Windows XP will format to NTFS, by default).  You can use the Gigabeat formatting tool to do that, I believe.  I'm pretty sure that error 20 is a file system issue.

2- If it is FAT32 and still doesn't work, I would recommend opening up the Gigabeat, and trying to fix this way:
a) Detach the HDD.  Remember how it was seated, before you do this!  (easier to put back together, later)
b) Power up the Gigabeat.  It will blow out an error, which is expected.
c) Attach the USB cable.
d) Attach the HDD, while the Gigbeat is running (the HDD is designed to be able to do this, so don't worry)
e) re-format the drive as FAT32, add your files, and then reboot the Gigbeat.  If all goes well, power off and put back together.
