Sansa c250 not booting.

(1/1)

orionfyre:
I went to remove rockbox from my sansa by removing the .rockbox folder and using the sansapatcher binary choosing uninstall.

Now when I turn on my device the start screen just blinks repeatedly, pressing the power button shows boot information

--- Code: ---Rockbox boot loader
Version: 4.0
Sandisk Sansa c200
Partition 0: 0x06 1939
Partition 1: 0x84 20 M
Loading Rockbox...
Can't load rockbox.mi4
File not found
--- End code ---

and this just blinks repeatedly. I have run the sansapatcher again choosing the Uninstall option twice more to make sure i did actually do it... each time it says it was removed...

--- Code: ---bash-3.2# ./sansapatcher

The unit will boot into the regular sansa mode when connected via USB, and will play music from that mode, but it no longer has a radio option as it once did...hopefully just a by product of this malfunction.

Chronon:
Strange, there's another recent topic in which a person reports that sansapatcher claims success (with installation in that case) yet there's no apparent change of state with regard to installation of the Rockbox bootloader.  Anyone have any ideas about these cases?

orionfyre:
I will also note that I can bypass as usual by holding the left key to boot into the Sansa software, but it still does not have the FM radio when doing so... If not for this problem I could live with things the way they are (makes it useless to anyone who steals it...bonus)  but I really need my FM radio.

Would using the firmware updater from sansa fix this?

EDIT: MORE INFO:
Well I was able to remove the boot loader. I don't know why this didn't cross my mind before now. The device was mounted. I am on my install right now that has no auto mounting and ran the sansapatcher trying it again (for giggles and grins and banging my head against a wall.)

While I was succesful in removing the bootloader I still have no FM Radio ... If anyone has any ideas please respond, I'll try and get access to a windows machine here to use the sansa firmware updater.

EDIT: EDIT: CRISIS AVERTED:
Alrighty. I reinstall v1.01.00 firmware. My fm radio has reappeared in the menu. :) All is right in the world now.
