e200 not recognised by rockbox but recognised by windows

(1/1)

Hey all

Just got a v1 e200(non-r). Its in MSC mode and is recognised by windows xp. When trying to auto-detect in the rockbox utility it doesnt appear. When I try to manually select the drive (E: in this case) it says No Sansa Found. I can click on Install Rockbox and it claims to have installed but nothing else works and the player is no different after this.

Ive updated the firmware via the sandisks own updater so I know its being detected there.

Any help?? If I can't get rockbox to work im taking it back!

Many thanks

What does happen when using the autodetection?

Well, the claim is correct: it installed Rockbox. But you also need the bootloader to run Rockbox, and as long as that isn't installed you won't see much of a difference (except for a folder .rockbox on your player).

Also, what does the System Info in Rockbox Utility show?

Thanks for the quick reply!

After autodetect it puts C:\ into the "Select your device" box.

System info reads the following

Username:

VID: 046d PID: c025, USB-PS/2 Optical Mouse
VID: 06b9 PID: 4062, USB Network Interface

The Sansa View is not currently supported. There is a thread concerning efforts to port Rockbox to this device: http://forums.rockbox.org/index.php?topic=13562.0

Ahh I see. Back to the shop with that then.

It sounds awful! Even compared to a nano!
