Ok I searched and unfortunatly I didnt find any thing (however thier are posts that did come up) close enough to answer my question(s)...this is more of an issue...

I installed rock box (know how so its a second nature thing for me since i had it on other pods from 1.0 or what ever) but now I put it on my 30GB 5th gen video pod (yes I got the 30gb version) and it gives me a nice litle message "ATA error -1 press ON to continue" (or something like that...) so when i hit the "ON" button I get another nice message that reads "PANIC: ATA -1" (or something like that)...

now I am assumeing since the hard drives are on an ATA based set up the Compact flash card the pod has in it will work (which it does when the defult stuff is on it) however it seemes rock box doesnt like it.

other times it boots more or less ok...and it comes with a screen that reads a lot of numbers and letters...things like "GPIO STATES, GPO32_VAL, GPO32_EN, etc, etc" and with "ACCESSORY: 1000" (the accessory number goes through some sort of count down)

if anyone knows whats going on and of a way to fix this please help...its time to move to solid state drives in the pods...a friend i know said i will need drivers for the CF card or something like that...

Im useing an Adata 16GB CF card (going to up to the 32GB version soon...)
