sansa e280 connection problems
(1/1)
awhitesuit:
Hey all,
So my sansa e280 arrived today and i installed rockbox on it. It worked great at first, i was able to put music on it just fine and it played everything. but now when i try to connect it to my computer i get an autoplay window saying "searching for content..." and my sansa keeps switching between disconnected and connected (more time spent at disconnected). eventually i am able to open up the sansa drive from my computer, but it's painfully slow and i am unable to copy to or from the drive.
i looked through the first 5 or so pages of this forum, and i didn't find anything relating to this issue. i am running windows vista home premium on my computer.
Thanks
edit: added more details
Chronon:
You should try using a different USB port (don't use a hub), a different cable, a different computer to try to see which factor is causing unreliable connection. Once you have that figured out it would be prudent to scan the player for filesystem errors from the intermittent disconnections.
Note: Once the SanDisk firmware has been booted for USB mode Rockbox doesn't play any further role until you boot it again.

i tried using a different usb port on my computer (i dont use a hub) and i tried connecting to a different computer (with XP pro). Using a different port, there was no change. On my old computer, I connected it, but it did not show up. An error came up with installing the drivers.
I do not have an extra cable to try. I'll head over to the sansa forum to look for solutions there.

Please double check that USB Mode is set to "MSC" in the Sansa firmware.
