5th Gen ipod not booting right, batt dead?
(1/1)
nailbunnyzq:
i currently have a 5th gen ipod with Rockbox on it and of recent am having an issue with it. it absolutely wont boot up correctly. i plugged it into the wall adaptor and it boots into Rockbox, but then resets after about 10secs, and keeps doing that endlessly, and if i plug it into the PC's USB it just says "battery too low" but i left it on that over night and nothing. i later read about putting it into Disk mode and tried doing that. not happening on the PC as it wont go past that batt message, but it will go into that on the wall adaptor and it stopped resetting, so i thought, success?. . .i left it like that for a few hours. . .and still nothing so i just thought id get other's opinions on wether it might be some software issue im not aware of, or is it plain and simple. . .dead battery?
Chronon:
Try leaving it to charge overnight from the wall charger. It might help for a severely depleted battery. Has the battery performance degraded recently or is this a sudden change?
nailbunnyzq:
yea, it's definitely a sudden change, but then again, this thing is pretty much connected 80% of the time at work, or while driving. it was only just the other day i was using it independently and left it playing, then the next morning it started doing this
