tried to load Rockbox and its crashed my ipod 60gb 5th Gen
« on: October 10, 2008, 06:06:38 PM »
Hey there!

I NEED SOME SERIOUS ASSISTANCE PLEASE!!

I heard about Rockbox and liked the sounds of it so I tried to upolad it.

When doing so it came up with a message saying there was a problem with the themes but everything else should be fine.

upon eject my screen went black with the following message in small white text

Rockbox boot loader
Version 2.0
IPOD version 0xFFFFFFFF
TOSHIBA MK6008GAH
Partition 1 : 0x0B 57121 MB
Loading Rockbox...
error!
Cant load rockbox.ipod:
File not found
hold MENU+SELECT to reboot
then SELECT+PLAY for disc mode

I followed the menu+select thing but nothing, I removed rockbox from the ipod. still nothing and now I cannot even find my ipod on my computer or even itunes, it's like I'm not even connecting anything to the laptop!!

PLEASE HELP!!!

1) Take a breath.
2) Follow the instructions that the bootloader gives.  Namely, reboot and enter disk mode using the key combinations.
3) Connect the iPod to your laptop.
4) Use Rockbox Utility to install a build to your player.
