Cigwin problem
(1/1)
jnoseworthy:
Hi Folks:
Because of the voice file creation problems that I am having with the Rockbox Utility program, I decided to go back to using Cygwin.
Following the instructions on the Rockbox site, I was able to download and install Cygwin with no problem. The next instruction was to run the Cigwin setup again and go to:
http://download.rockbox.org/cygwin/
When I did this, I am informed that Cygwin is unable to find the necessary information in the setup.INI file.
Has there been a change in the way this is done but was not reflected in the documentation?
Thanks all over the place gang.

I assume you mean setup.ini.sig?
if so this is caused by a change in the cygwin installer and you need to pass a switch to it to make this work again.
This is directly from the CygwinDevelopment page in the wiki, it might be worth reading through in case you run into any further problems.
--- Quote ---In case you encounter an error regarding missing .sig file, supply the -X (--no-verify) command-line flag when using Cygwin's setup.exe. This can be added into the command-line invocation in a Windows shortcut, for convenience.
--- End quote ---

On August 14th, I also added the following note to the CygwinInstallWithScreenShots page:
--- Quote ---Note: As of version 2.573.2.3 the Cygwin installer requires .sig files to be present and verified against a gpg key stored at Cygwin.com. For now you can avoid performing this check by running "Setup.exe -X" from a command line.
--- End quote ---
