ok well i installed rockbox and it work fine and its really nice and everything. but i failed to read that in order to convert the encrypted .sat files i need to set my gigabeat to connect with WMP 10 and then copy them over. now i have rockbox installed and working but it doesnt recognize that my mp3s are there because there encrypted and i cant revert back to the OF ive tried copying the OF GBSYSTEM files from my gigabeat folder. it didnt work it just keeps trying to load rockbox with no results. ive also tried uninstalling the bootloader with the utility and that didnt work either. anyone have any idea of what i can do.
right now i copied all my encrypted music to my comp and my F10 is sitting there with nothing on it cept rockbox.

The Rockbox bootloader is just a replacement for one of the Gigabeat firmware files. If your F10 is still trying to boot Rockbox it means you didn't replace the correct file or didn't cycle the battery switch.
Did you follow
these instructions
?

You notice that there's a section of those instructions for those who have already installed Rockbox, right? You don't mention if you're using the cradle or not.

If you need to get back to the original firmware, you need to go into the GBSYSTEM folder. There should be a folder named FWIMG. Inside of that folder there _SHOULD_ be a FWIMG01.DAT and a FWIMG01.DAT.ORIG. The FWIMG01.DAT is rockbox and the FWIMG01.DAT.ORIG is the original firmware.
If you have the FWIMG01.DAT.ORIG, rename the FWIMG01.DAT to FWIMG01.DAT.ROCK and change FWIMG01.DAT.ORIG to FWIMG01.DAT. Make sure you safely eject, turn off the gigabeat, and cycle the battery.
If you don't have the FWIMG01.DAT.ORIG, you can find it on your computer assuming you have gigabeat room installed. If you browse into Program Files, you should be able to find the Gigabeat Room folder. I'm not sure if it's inside of a Toshiba folder or not. Inside of the gigabeat room folder, look for a hidden GBSYSTEM folder. I can't remember if you have to dig inside of folders for it but it should be there. Inside of it, there is a FWIMG folder with the FWIMG01.DAT file that you need. Copy that into your gigabeat's FWIMG folder and eject, power off, and cycle the battery.
Hopefully that helps.

That's incredibly strange. Try turning off the gigabeat, and turning off the battery switch. Leave it like that for a couple minutes and then flip the battery switch back on. Try booting then.
If that still doesn't work, then I have no clue.

You only need the cradle for removing the encryption.
Out of curiosity, how big is the current FWIMG01.DAT file that's on your Gigabeat?

That would be the Rockbox bootloader then. That explains it.
The original firmware file should be around 1MB in size (1171kB, in my case).

yes in both the gigabeat room 2.02 and 3 all the files have been 50kb
well could someone maybe upload the original files for me? i would really appreciate it.
edit: ok this is weird even when i uninstall gigabeat room and re-install from my cd all of the fwigm files are 50kb none of them are the original file for some reason.

I'm fairly sure the FWIMG01.DAT changes with each tosiba firmware update so if you put the wrong one on your gigabeat, you will have to open it up to get into recovery mode.
Do you know what version your original firmware was? I've got the files if you have 3.000.
