removing .SAT encryption/bootloader problem.
Phalangees:
If you need to get back to the original firmware, you need to go into the GBSYSTEM folder. There should be a folder named FWIMG. Inside of that folder there _SHOULD_ be a FWIMG01.DAT and a FWIMG01.DAT.ORIG. The FWIMG01.DAT is rockbox and the FWIMG01.DAT.ORIG is the original firmware.
If you have the FWIMG01.DAT.ORIG, rename the FWIMG01.DAT to FWIMG01.DAT.ROCK and change FWIMG01.DAT.ORIG to FWIMG01.DAT. Make sure you safely eject, turn off the gigabeat, and cycle the battery.
If you don't have the FWIMG01.DAT.ORIG, you can find it on your computer assuming you have gigabeat room installed. If you browse into Program Files, you should be able to find the Gigabeat Room folder. I'm not sure if it's inside of a Toshiba folder or not. Inside of the gigabeat room folder, look for a hidden GBSYSTEM folder. I can't remember if you have to dig inside of folders for it but it should be there. Inside of it, there is a FWIMG folder with the FWIMG01.DAT file that you need. Copy that into your gigabeat's FWIMG folder and eject, power off, and cycle the battery.
Hopefully that helps.

i just did this and it didnt work. copied it from my gigabeat room folder and its still trying to load rockbox. i dont understand.
Phalangees:
That's incredibly strange. Try turning off the gigabeat, and turning off the battery switch. Leave it like that for a couple minutes and then flip the battery switch back on. Try booting then.
If that still doesn't work, then I have no clue.
daeman13:
ok i will try that.
Chronon:
You only need the cradle for removing the encryption.
Out of curiosity, how big is the current FWIMG01.DAT file that's on your Gigabeat?
