No system on HDD message
«

Hi
I have just attempted to install RB via the manual and the automated message. After install I get the message no system on HDD.
If I go back into the SystemGB and change the FWIMG.dat file back to the original it works on the original system just fine.
Is there some special version of .dat file I need for my Toshiba F20?
Thanks for any feedback...

What do you mean by "the automated message"?
If you're using RBUtil you shouldn't be changing any files yourself.

Sorry I meant that I installed manually the first time and then restarted. That failed.
I then deleted and changed the .dat files back and then used the automated process..that failed. Same message re: System HDD.
It seems that the .dat file is the problem. However I am unclear now as to what the ver should be.

Installing the bootloader should install the proper .dat file, not just rename the old one.

Shouldn't the RBUtil install the correct version?
BTW in the original setup, I noticed that there were 3 .dat files. They were all dated same date and numbered sequentially.
FWIMG00.DAT
FWIMG01.DAT
FWIMG02.DAT

With RBUtil you need to do a full install, so that the bootloader is installed.
Did you have to delete a file before you could rename the .orig file?

I did a full install using RBUtil - seemed to work other than it bombed out on themes.
I didn't delete any files.
Should I manually delete the .Rockbox folder and delete the Fwimg.dat files that were added ?
Is there any other file I need to delete ?
I was thinking to clean everything off and trying to do another full install.

So, it sounds like there was a FWIMG01.dat.orig (renamed Toshiba firmware file) but not the FWIMG01.dat from Rockbox. Is that correct? When you tried to install manually, didn't you put the Rockbox FWIMG01.dat (the bootloader) in that directory?
